Objecting to conditional order

My conditional order is finally going to be read out mid May. Ex was abusive from coercive control through to rape.

The paperwork says we don't need to go to court when the conditional order is read out unless we want to object.
What does objecting do? I imagine he might decode to object as he says we can't have irreconcilable differences as I haven't tried outside mediation to reconcile.
For context he jointly filed for divorce ad he reckoned that in 3 months I would change my mind. Whe I didn't he told court that he knew nothing about the application, so i had to be investigated for fraud.
If he decides to go and object what happens next? Do I need to be there to give a different view? Can he stop the conditional order going through. I haven't seen him since I ran away with the kids. I don't want to see him in court.
