Advice required please.
Totally amicable divorce - exh just needs to be off the mortgage so that he can get a new one. I can afford it alone & should get it easily salary multiplier wise etc

Question - what order do we have to do things? Bank first, then land registry etc or??
Is stamp duty payable even though it's just removing him, not a "sale"

I did it all via bank where have mortgage. Used their suggested solicitors (the transfer and land reg) all that was done online. We both had to go into bank in person and ex had to sign something to say he’s been advised get legal advice. Stamp duty info on gov uk website rules have changed but generally it’s not payable if part divorce settlement or transfer within same tax year as separation. Transfer doesn’t mean ex can’t claim on house you still need a final order for clean break. First step is talk to mortgage co. Mine honoured an existing low interest rate and ported the mortgage. It was all very easy.

If the house is in joint names, then you'll need a solicitor to perform a transfer of equity. You'll need to ensure you have a mortgage in place in your own name as part of this. All this is normally executed once a consent/financial order has been agreed.
