My husband and I separated in December.
I have been very careful on spending since then, being aware finances are low. He is going out for steak meals,, cinema etc.
How does this work? Am I paying for half of all our finances until divorce is finally agreed and settled?

Are you still living under the same roof?

Thats a difficult one - is there a difference in your incomes, where are you in terms of coming to a financial agreement? Have you already exchanged Form Es? Do you have separate bank accounts?
Are you living together?

I’m essence yes. Assuming you end up with a 50/50 split everything you both spend now is paid for by the other (50%).

Start that divorce ASAP. I delayed a year and it cost me an extra 100k as I was doing my ex a favour and she promised we would base everything on a certain date, or course she changed her mind and screwed me.

DO NOT DELAY.

Start divorce right now. Go to the government website as it is quick and easy. We were separated rated for 5 yrs - separate accounts ect he was paying me some money monthly for the bills and still was entitled to look at my accounts and i had to justify my income. Madness.
Good luck.
