Hello currently going through the longest divorce with the most toxic narcissist. After selling the family home any equity still with my solicitor seems to be being swallowed up buy fees. My question is the cost of the actuary for pensions it’s expensive and I’m wondering what the benefits are to go ahead with the actuary? Anyone know ?

Yes. I'd say so, you might think it's good money after bad but the value of pensions can be really high and worth negotiating over.

Probably only worth it if the relevant pension is defined benefit (public sector, high paid private sector) and contributions were made over many years.

It depends what his pension is and if there’s much to share. Is it a valuable pension such as a final salary one? Actuary should cost about £2500
