Teachers Pensions

Has anyone else having difficulty with teachers pensions during a divorce?
I'm waiting for my pension valuation and it's taking months! I've waited 6 months and no sign of a valuation.
Every time I speak to Teachers pensions, they have a different story about why there is a delay. They seem to have stopped providing valuations altogether at the moment. The lady I spoke to today told me she can't give me an estimate of when it could be ready. It could be another 6 months!
It's been very stressful as I need the valuation before I can move forward with the divorce.
Anyone else in a similar position?

My DH retired on 2 June and hasn’t received his pension or lump sum from TPS and they can’t tell him when he will receive it, they’re a total disgrace

I've contacted teachers pensions again today and, despite the statement, they are saying that there is still no timescale and receiving a CETV could still take months.

No help at all, again! I've been waiting 10 months now.

My sister got hers very quickly once she wrote to her MP. I would suggest getting a letter ready for 5th July!

This thread is a worrying read. Are pp still waiting for their CETVs?

STBXH and I both have teachers’ pensions. His is much bigger than mine as he has always been full time and a headteacher for nearly ten years so it’s vital that it’s included in the negotiations for our financial settlement.

Can you just lodge a percentage instead on the report? We've split everything else already. I need a consent order to get the split of the uss but they won't return messages or calls!

They are terrible. I applied last November and still waiting. Lucky our judge recommended the Galbraith tables and we worked it out that way as our pensions are not that big. Have a look at them. https://mcact.co.uk/wp-2020/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/The-Galbraith-Tables-v2.0.pdf

Does anyone have any updates on this please? I applied for my cetv in Feb 2024 & was originally told 6 months. They’re now saying May 2025 at the earliest so 15 months & there’s no guarantee it will even be then. My divorce & house sale is all on hold & it’s really getting me down living in limbo 😥

1 year, 2 months for mine.

JKM66 · 22/10/2024 15:49

Still haven't got mine since December, despite the solicitor contacting them twice and paid £66 to speed it up. Disgusting. I do no know what to do. I am heading to the final hearing and this report is a must. I will be contacting Ombudsman. What takes them so long?
