Would you continue to mediate after initial agreement broken

I am attempting to mediate child arrangements for divorce. However, after the first mediation agreement, the other party broke it and just carried on regardless. The next session and virtually no consequence. Is mediation a waste of time if there is acrimony. I wanted it to be solicitor negotiated.

Depends on the context, how/why did they break it? What would their perspective be?

I'd be tempted just to go to court

I am very tempted, but cafcas and cost puts me off.

Why are you worried about cafcas? You can represent yourself to minimise cost.
