Financial order tick box

Confusedwiththis · 26/01/2024 07:27

Can anyone help me with this? If I tick to apply with the financial order on my divorce application, will the court look at finances? What happens with it?
Hoping to settle between us.
Thank you.

You should tick it
you can still do much of the work and agree yourselves
a court will need to sign off consent order in all cases but does not mean it needs to go to court to get to an outcome if you can both agree based on principles of legal fairness

From my understanding all it does is alert the court that there will be one coming their way, it does not in itself mean a financial order will be made if that makes sense? Ticking it does not equal financial order. Check out
