Third party contact between co parents

My ex and I have a very poor relationship with limited communication. He has asked that all communication go via his family. However, I am not comfortable with this as I had a difficult relationship with them and then I feel that I’m struggling with 2 people instead of just my ex. Court have suggested an app which I’m happy to use and suggested myself about a year ago.

The question is, are there any independent third parties that we can both use for day to day communication? So they can filter messages, encourage replies, that sort of thing? I’m not sure this exists!

It’s tricky to 50/50 co parent with zero communication as always things popping up in respect of the children.

why are you having or needing day to day contact?

regenerate · 21/01/2024 17:27

just use the app

Nimbus1999 · 21/01/2024 17:43

He doesn’t want to use the app. He wants to use a third party such as his family.

Not daily contact but with 4DC, things crop up.

i think given it sounds dire between the two of you

You should accept all comms via the app.

utterly awful for a family or friend to be the go between. For the friend / family

and of you want to secure a mediator on a constant basis… well, that’s not possible

Nimbus1999 · 21/01/2024 19:27

I do accept and want all comms via the app. It is ex who doesn’t.

I’ll just have to try to push for it then as doesn’t sound like much of an alternative.

what is the app?

AppClose. It’s a free one.
