Anyone recently applied for conditional order? :(

Can anyone share their experiences about how long it took them to hear back? Applied last week, was told it will take eight weeks(!!!) just to hear back with the court date - no idea how far out from the end of that eight weeks the actual court date would be - I was under the impression this usually takes only about three to four weeks. Now I’m facing the possibility that this could be more like 11 weeks. Can anyone shed some light, anybody else waiting?

Applied for Conditional Order on 23/10/23, acknowledgment email stated court date would be assigned by 6/12/23. Received court date email on 12/12/23 confirming court date 9/1/24. So nearly 11 weeks from application to court date! The application was via snail mail, not online, so probably took 50% longer (according to my solicitor!)

Thanks for your reply, oh wow that’s a really long time…I keep seeing posts of people in 2023 who got it in three weeks, 11 weeks is a two month additional wait!

I was gutted about the extra wait at first, but now am only a few days away! Try not to dwell on it, the weeks will fly by, just make sure your consent order is signed & ready to upload for court approval as soon as your conditional is sealed by the court :)

Thanks :)

Hi I heard that the court was closed from 21Dec or before until 6Jan. So the current lead time may not be that long. Fingers crossed.

Sorry don’t understand what you mean, doesn’t that just means we will be waiting even longer?! That’s an awfully long time for the courts to be closed. I’m still waiting and haven’t heard anything back yet (applied beginning of Jan), how long have you been waiting if you don’t mind me asking?

Applied 7th Dec
Told would hear by Feb 1st
Heard on 11th Jan
Being pronouced on 24th Jan

So not as long as originally feared

mantou2 · 18/01/2024 23:49

Thanks for the date and updates! So five weeks wait from your initial application to hear back.

Yes and that was including Xmas so not too bad

Strangely, it's being read out in a Birmingham court (we are north yorkshire)

@sadnortherner I am N Yorkshire too and mine was also held at Birmingham. Got the confirmation email about 90 minutes after the hearing, so that part was quick!
