Very long wait for conditional order - anyone else?

Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone else is in a similar position or able to give some advice.

My STBX applied online for our conditional order last week and has had an email saying we will hear about the court date by the end of January!!! I know it can then be a few more weeks until you actually get the order.

Can anyone help me understand why it’s taking so long? I was told it would be like 2/3 weeks until the court date, not 8-10!

Did anyone get their court date earlier than the date on their email?

We’re doing it ourselves so no lawyer to call.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for updating us. Hoping to hear back any day now…

Anyone else waiting?

My DP's not quite exwife has finally hit the button on their joint application for the conditional order (after the 14 day time frame) and it's looking like an 8 week wait at the moment. Does anyone have any recent more optimistic timeframe for conditional orders being granted to cheer him up?! Mine was only 3 weeks and that was over Christmas. Thank you!

I was also hoping for more up to date info. I applied for my conditional order on 9th March heard nothing yet really hoping I don’t have to wait until may for a court date! I’m in midlands area. I really need this finalised so we can sever all ties!

Tony1989 · 30/03/2024 20:08

@RoseSwan have you heard anything about a date yet?. I'm about 3 weeks behind you. Also Midlands

RoseSwan · 30/03/2024 22:34

Yes :) applied 9th March at midnight and it was approved on 25th March at 8am court date in midlands 10th April so my 6 weeks 1 day will start from next week :)

Divorce & Conditional Order waiting time
I've read posts dated Jan & Feb 2024 about delays in the readings of the Condition orders in Court.
I've had my email back saying I'll receive a reply with a date of the court reading by 23rd May. Wondering if anyone else had any recent updates. I'm really hoping that I won't have to wait the 8 weeks to hear and that as in previous posts seems people have heard around 4 weeks. I'm getting so stressed about it as when I started proceedings and checking dates I assumed this would be sorted quickly so confidently my partner and I booked our wedding abroad. It's not till the beginning of Sept this year. But knowing we have to wait 6 weeks after the Conditional order has been read I'm getting in a real state worrying everything will be back in time to get approved ready to go abroad. I'd really appreciate to hear from anyone with recent news please ! It's starting to keep me awake at nights. Is it worth giving the court a call ??

I'm in South Wales area wondering if anyone in that area had any updates in getting their conditional order read. End of March submitted advised should have an email with a date by 23rd May 2024
Thanks
.

Hi, I’m also in South Wales area. Ex-H applied for conditional order on 16th April and our email says we’ll hear back by 11th June. It sounds like they are giving everyone this as an 8-week standard wait, which I assume is worst case scenario?!? I even queried this on the Gov Webchat, they cannot advise people any different. Please let me know if and when you get the next email, I’m checking constantly for mine!! Getting re-married in September. Am I crazy for chancing it? 😱

His baby won't care. Stop taking on his stress. It's his own tangled web

SusanDD123 · 30/04/2024 16:46

@Headintheshed1979
I'll keep you updated still not heard anything. I'm hoping like you it won't be the full 8 weeks wait - I'm nearly at the 5 week stage already!! Also getting married in Sept abroad and need our letter confirming our maritial status by a solicitor to take with us so want my papers Aug . I'm getting stressed as weeks going by. Wish I lived in Birmingham someone applied the same time as me and its being heard in a court today!!

Browniesandcustard · 03/06/2024 22:20

@SusanDD123 how are you getting on? I’ve had my email today to say that conditional being read in 2 weeks and that I can apply for final order at end of July. That’ll be 7 months since I applied (it’s going through Birmingham).

SusanDD123 · 03/06/2024 22:38

Mine finally got read out in Birmingham on 29th May so can apply for the final order on 11th July. By the time I get my papers it'll be 8 months from start to finish. Getting there!!
