How long to get the absolute?

I applied for divorce and Nisi was granted in early 2021. Finances hadn't been sorted so was advised to hold off on the absolute.
Fast forward nearly 3 years and the absolute joke of a exH has agreed the finances. A judge approved the order at the end of Oct 2023 so I applied for the absolute.
I've had an email saying that my divorce is "out of time" so I've had to send a statement explaining why I'm now applying.

Does anyone know how long I should expect to wait for the absolute? The courts are extremely vague, only saying that a judge will need to approve the absolute.

I'm now stuck in limbo again as the order is binding but not enforceable until the absolute is granted. I need to enforce as exH has basically disappeared (again) and I'm still financially trapped.....

I had to help my parents sit their divorce out. Once they had the nisi they had to wait I think 6 weeks before they could apply for the absolute... We posted that off asap and it was processed and returned immediately and all done and dusted.

If you're out of time I am not sure what you do?
