Why do you think separation is ?

That should be ‘What do you think separation is?’
Is it always followed by divorce, is it to take stock and see if you want to try again?

Having only done it the once I'm not an expert but I think if you reach the point of separation it's hard to come back from.

My DP and I have had a tough year but it's never come to a point where I've thought this needs to end, even temporarily.

It doesn't have to end in divorce I don't think. My marriage was in a terrible state, I wanted a period of separation as I felt that something drastic needed to happen and I needed time apart. Husband refused, 9 months later he moved out for good

I don't if we could have worked it out had he gone sooner. And never will now
