Final order query

If I apply for my final order as soon as I am able to online, how long roughly will it take to be granted? I'm able to apply later this month and just wondered if anyone knows the timescale at the moment.

Thanks

From applying for my final order to getting the email saying I was officially divorced was about 2 weeks. This was earlier this year. Really shocked me as I got the email on a Sunday afternoon and was expecting several more weeks for it to come through

It was a couple of hours or so for mine. Took me completely by surprise. It said up to 2 days. This was 2 weeks ago. The consent order was also signed off really quickly. The letter confirming receipt of the consent order arrived the same day as the approved order as it'd be done the same day.

Took 4 days

Which court was this? I'm wondering about the waiting time for Birmingham, I've been quoted at least 10 weeks from application for final order to grant.

Fourmagpies · 12/10/2023 10:57

@HappyGG mine was Birmingham. Is that from application of conditional order to final order? There is 6 weeks between grant of conditional and being able to apply for final. Conditional took about 2-3 weeks to grant so that's not far off.

HappyGG · 12/10/2023 11:15

Hey @Fourmagpies thanks for that. I got Conditional last March and engaged solicitor to write up the financials for final order. They say from submission of papers to court it'll take 10 weeks. Its been slow and painful. We even supplied them with a completed D81. I can't understand the timescales. We were initially told 2-3 months.

Fourmagpies · 12/10/2023 11:57

If it's the consent order (financials) you're waiting for, I was told up to 8 weeks but it came back within a week - it was accepted and signed off on the same day, the post took far longer! Financials and final order are separate processes, but you need the financials agreed before applying for the final order.

Thanks all. I am just waiting for the final order, no consent order. Hopefully I'll be lucky and get it same day!

Took three hours to get an email confirming final order granted ...

2022NewTimes · 12/10/2023 14:16

You should always get a financial consent order......this legally severs the financial tie between you and your ex.... you are still connected financially without it......

Humanswarm · 12/10/2023 15:49

It took 3 hours for me...

Newuname199987 · 14/10/2023 00:51

Same day for me

LumpyPumpkin · 19/10/2023 16:02

Update: I applied 00:05 on Tuesday and it came 15:50 Tuesday.
