Hi,

My ex and I have been living seperately (in Scotland) since 2020. We have been discussing divorce and have agreed finances, childcare and assets.

Am I best off just getting a solicitor to deal with all the paperwork from here on in or can I do some of it myself.

I don't want advice, there are some things I know a lawyer would query but the agreement we have come to makes sense for us and allows for relative peace on the process.

Thank you for any advice on the best way to progress this.

I've done the online divorce application and applied for the consent order myself. Exh used a solicitor to respond to the application, paid for it, they did it incorrectly!! How, I'll never know.

So far so good, I've just contacted a solicitor about help with the consent order, then will apply for the final order myself.
