Divorce timeline?

My divorce application says I can apply for my conditional order on 21sr October. Sole application, husband did not dispute.

I know each case is individual, but what sort of date am I looking at for completion? Can anyone who's been through this recently update please?

6 weeks and a day from when the provisional order is granted you can apply, it was very quick, 48 hours max

I applied for divorce on 21/9/22. Conditional order applied for 28/2/23 & granted on 20/3/23. Financial consent order submitted on 30/6/23. Consent order approved & sealed by judge on 17/7/23. Applied for final order 17/7/23 and it came through the same day! It's the financial part that delays the process as you can't (or shouldn't) apply for your final order until finances are sorted!

We wanted a mesher order to prevent me paying CGT penalty (I will move out).
I could not find a single example of how to write that online.
All the lawyer sites doom & gloom about how you should have a lawyer to divide the money.
So we went with a cheap both-sides-agree divorce service.

We applied for everything else as quick as possible, but when the 20 week wait was up, we had to wait 2 weeks for court to grant conditional. I thought not point in contacting lawyer more than 10 days before could apply (big mistake).

It turns out that cheap does NOT mean quick. We are now getting a delay until lawyer firm does next step.

If your timing was like ours, this would happen

21 Oct: you apply for conditional
8 Nov: they grant conditional, say that you can apply for final on 23 Dec.
23 Dec: you apply but they don't process until 3 January, holiday season.
Then you are divorced.

That's if you don't have a complicated financial order to include.
