Leaving with the kids

I want to tell my husband that I want a divorce tomorrow. Our marraige is toxic and there is always an atmosphere. The kids are starting to pick up on things and it's truly awful.
There is no way he will leave the house so I am going to be leaving to go to stay with family with the kids. He will totally spin it to say its all my fault and I am the one choosing to leave. Has anyone had experience of leaving and taking the kids from their home, I'm so worried about it.

How far are you planning on going and what access to their dad are you proposing? He has as much legal right to keep them as you do ….

10 mins away to stay with family- there is enough room for us all to have a room there.
I am going to say to him that I am happy to build to 50/50 and I'm going to be very flexible with it over the summer hols for the next few weeks and then hopefully we can get a plan in place.
No intention of stopping him seeing his children. I'm worried he will see it as me taking them but I absolutely wouldn't leave without them.
