Mediator says divorce can't be processed?

Currently in mediation, separated since start of the year. I am wanting to start divorce on unreasonable behaviour grounds, but mediators say I'm not able to until a year down the line because we're (mostly) amicable? Is this correct?

Best option is to log onto the Scottish court system and see which criteria they offer. In England there's no waiting to file now but you wait 5 months as part of the process
