Should I have heard something??

I sent my joint divorce application about 8 weeks ago with my court fees and my marriage certificate included. The cheque was cashed a week later and then my marriage certificate came back in the post so I assumed I was in the 20 week wait period, but my solicitor said I should have received an email/link from the court and I’m not in the wait period yet!

I’ve sent an email chasing about 10 days ago and no response. I really wanted this to all be processed as quickly as possible because my stbxh is pretty volatile! Does this sound normal? Should I have heard something? Where do I contact someone to find out- the court email address my solicitor gave me didn’t do much.

thanks!

You should be able to ring them and check

Dontbelieveaword · 10/05/2023 18:58

Have you checked your junk/spam folder?

farthingwood5 · 10/05/2023 19:24

Yes, I check spam every day 😩 can’t believe I’m not even in the wait period yet. This is going to go on forever

I'm sorry, I can understand your frustration. As pp says, you'll have to call or get your solicitor to chase

caringcarer · 10/05/2023 20:35

Phone them.

I know this isn't a very helpful comment, but why didn't you do it online? It would have been so much quicker.
