Financial order and mediation

There is a question regarding the financial order (as x hubby want to tell the kids this Friday that we are getting divorce (kids are age 10, 14 and 18) also he want to ask the kids who is going to live with who (not the 10 y old) where i prefer to wait for a couple of weeks for them to accept that we're getting divorce first...x hubby is not thinking about their feelings without giving them a double blow!! ).

Do i just tick the box on the divorce application to say Yes financial order for the children anyway without asking them where they want to live right now? ....
Just incase if x hubby decided to be more of a pain.

I'm not sure what you mean?
Your two eldest children will have the right to decide where they live but where they live will impact the divorce proceedings in terms of the Consent Order/Finances.
Until you decide upon child arrangements, it's difficult to complete the finances isn't it?

I also actually think at 14 and 18 they are old enough for you to be frank and honest with re the fact you're getting a divorce, and the living arrangements will probably come up in conversation as you discuss the divorce.

Well then he needs to move out

Make sure you tell the mortgage company so he can't gamble away the equity (if you own your house)

Tick the boxes on the petition- it’s easier not to need them, than apply after. I did hunk folks don’t understand/remember there’s a tick box on petition form on line asto whether you want court to do financial order. It’s a wee bit confusing but just tick

@LaurieFairyCake he won't move as we are both house owners. But i wish he would man up and move out...after all he is the irresponsible one..not me. He just gamble his wages.

@Whiteroomjoy Yes it is so confusing!!! Ill just tick the box and same to him
