I have made a sole application to end my civil partnership due to domestic abuse. I did this on the earliest possible date available - the civil partnership only lasted 6 months. A week later, I received notification that my ex partner has initiated a joint application. I will not be joining this as I have already started my sole application as a statement of the domestic abuse I endured during the relationship. Due to the domestic abuse, we have no contact. I am aware that as I won't respond to the joint application, my partner can go on to make a sole application. Does anyone know if, as my sole application was made first, it will supersede my partners? Thank you
