So my ex paid me £200 on the 20th of every month, he was a consistently late payer so I want to the child maintenance service on 14th February. He made his usual payment on 20th February and then I received a later saying his payment had gone up to £300 from 1st April. No payment received in March and no payment received on 1st April. I reported the missed payment and then receive £100 from him on 21st April.
Called the CMS to say payment was short by £200 and they said it was correct as he paid me in February and it goes from 1st April so the £200 he paid me then was deducted from what he was due to pay me on 1st April.
I’m totally confused as to how they say payments start from 1st April (and tell me the amount he should pay) and that he shouldn’t have paid me in February, he has completely got away with a months payment and I don’t see how this is fair, is this right? Is there anything I can do?
