I want to leave my relationship. We have been together 6 years and the last couple of years have been terrible. He has turned into a alcoholic drinks 20 can of beer a day. I tried a number of times last year to separate but he is having none of it. I can't do this anymore. I have teenage kids who are not his. Problem is the house is a council house and is in my name but he won't leave council say he does have rights as we married. I don't have the money to private rent. I desperately need some advice? I pay all the bills.

Call the police and boot him out! The house is in your name. If you don't want him there, then he has to go.

I'm assuming he doesn't work if he's drinking 20 cans a day? I'd just wait until he's passed out, start packing for him and leave his bags outside. And take your keys back (or change the locks).

And your children are much younger than teenagers (8 years old according to your other thread 😐 )

You need to apply for an Occupation Order. You can download the forms and do it yourself. I'm sorry you're dealing with such a nightmare situation. Also gives Women's Aid a call. It might be worth seeing if your council has a DV officer. I had a friend in a similar situation and while not physical domestic abuse, the council helped her to get him removed.
