Separating and have ZERO finances...

Hello,

Have name changed but regular contributor!

I have finally decided to leave my partner. He's been financially abusive and kept me as a 1940s housewife for as long as he could but I have finally left him.

Only issue is; we aren't married. I have no savings. I have one dc from a previous relationship (NC from bio dad) and we have one toddler together.

My mum has said I can move in with her but not until at least a couple of weeks as she already had her sister with her waiting for some renovations to be done.

Can I apply for Universl credit while still here for two weeks? It might be sooner that I can move, I hope it is.

I have no idea what to do. My mum said I don't have to pay her anything to stay there.

I guess I need to contact child maintenance too? As I doubt he'll be giving me any money. I currently have £120 to my name. I don't even know where to begin and I feel frightened.

Any help or advice would be great right now. Thank you.

Bumping for you as I personally have no idea but I am sure there are others who will be able to advise you based on their experiences.

if he has been abusive you can make a homeless application at the council this is what I did and refuse supported me while housing went through . It does take time and depend on circumstances. But please apply . You will be ok
