Hi

I’m waiting for a call back from a solicitor but I’m impatient lol!

so I run a business from our home premises - people pay to be there - think storage etc

Partner wants to close it down - I don’t - it’s my income

we jointly own the house etc

Can he unilaterally give everyone notice to vacate and leave me without my business ??

I doubt he can decide what you do in the property

Even though he is named in the deeds it doesn’t mean that he can override the consent of your mortgage lender who I’m assuming are aware you are running a business from your home

also check to see if you have legal cover on your home insurance you should get through to a lawyer pretty quickly

Yes the mortgage provider is aware as we have a commercial mortgage - it’s classed as 50/50 residential/commercial

actually, the business that runs from here was part of the mortgage application so I doubt they would allow him to close it anyway thinking about it
