Hi. Just that really, asking for my friend and I can’t find this on google. Divorce only applied for 3 weeks ago and her husband due to respond by Monday. does anyone know how to withdraw the divorce, the process and cost? Do you have to use a solicitor to do it? Thank you.

Why do they want to withdraw?

If it is because they've made up, might be better writing to the court jointly requesting a stay for 12 months as they've made up 😂and if not restored in 12 months the petition do stand dismissed?

I don’t think you can withdraw it. You just decide not to proceed any further.

This is why there are cooling off periods between issue of the conditional and final orders, because some people reconcile and remain married, whilst others need time to sort finances/child arrangements etc.

What's the husband going to do?
If you just ignore it it will not process further.

That's why there's a six week cooling period between the nisi and absolute.

When you apply for a divorce - you have to wait 20 weeks before applying for decree nisi / Conditional Order - so they can just decide to not proceed
