XH and I decided to separate a few months ago but are stuck for at least a year (I am retraining so can’t get a mortgage). We were fudging the bedroom thing, which has been easy as it’s always been musical beds here. Now i have asked him to move to the basement (yes it is a real room!) which means telling them. Any tips on how to handle things when there is going to be such a long gap between telling them and me moving out?
