Financial order timescale?

Does anyone know how long a court order for finances is taking? From the time it’s submitted to court? I am so desperate to be done … finished with all that

Mine took 6-7 weeks to be approved once it was submitted. Submitted mid-November 2022, approved early January 2023.

Timescales seem to depend on the judge’s workload and which centre deals with your application.

I’ve heard of people that have had them approved much quicker.

I understand how frustrating it is. Hang in there - you’re almost over the line! 😊

The online process seems to be much more efficient.

Was this through a solicitor or did you do this independently? I wonder if it makes a difference

My solicitor made the application for me. I don’t think it should make a difference whether you do it yourself or a solicitor applies using their own account.

I did mine independently, and it also took about 6 weeks. I think it can vary a bit depending on which court it goes to, but 6 weeks-ish seems to be fairly typical.

Perhaps this was under the old paper-based system, or if you sent it in by post?

The new system is on-line. You get automated emails to notify you once the application is received, has been assigned to a judge and then when it’s either been approved, or if the judge has questions.

Once it’s approved the order is available to download straight away. If it has a pension sharing order, you have to wait longer for the order to be made available once it’s approved.

This is only going back to October November-ish so I don't know how new it is. I only got it back about 10 days ago. The solicitor filed it, I don't know maybe by post maybe online. Anyway, I was told the delays were due to postal strikes and a lot had gone missing/were held up. Maybe the solicitor was lying lol, who knows.
Anyway, it was supposed to take 6-7 weeks, took about 12.

My draft order came back with one question. Once that has been addressed, is it fairly safe to assume it will be approved?
