Mortgage Holiday

Hi everyone and Happy New Year.

Decree Nisi is due in next few weeks. We're still living together. Finances not yet agreed but we have agreed the house will need to be sold.

Ex has gone on holiday today for a couple of weeks and I've just found out from the online mortgage statement that he's taken a mortgage holiday. I'm unsure how long for and assuming its just one month. He pays the mortgage although it's in both names. It seems unfair to me that he gets to save a £2.5K monthly payment to go on holiday with his floozy. I'm being emotional I know. Just want to know if I should cut the emotions out and shut up n put up or if there's anything I need to be doing about it. I can't think of a reason for why he isn't allowed to do it (since he pays it anyway) but it will have an effect on the early repayment charge and the mortgage balance. Thanks in advance.

Keep careful note of this and any other frivolous spending he makes. The associated cost of this stupid decision to take a payment holiday should be deducted from his share of the assets.
What a dick move

Actually there are some small improvements we're making to the house that we agreed could come off the house sale balance. I'll make sure his refund is appropriately dealt with. You inspired me, thank you!

Taking a mortgage holiday affects your credit score - I’d be really careful about this, OP going forward if you name is on it as well.
