Hi. I'm about to have my FDR hearing. I need to speak to a good and truly independent Financial Advisor, preferably who specialises in divorce scenarios. My barrister has given me a thumbnail sketch of a settlement scenario with three different capital amounts and asked me to get an IFA to show me what the long-term outcomes would be. I have no pension nor does ex. I spoke to one called Mary Waring but she wants £3k and another from SJP (who everyone on here says is a bad organisation) who wanted £1.5k initial fee for reviewing the scenarios. I just feel this is unreasonably expensive to look at hypothetical figures and scenarios which may not turn out to be the case. Of course, if an IFA was good and could help me in a 'ballpark' way now, I would then use their services after settlement, to try and make the most of whatever I'm awarded and would be happy to pay reasonable fees for that service. Help! I don't know what to do and I feel that time is running out (I have to make my settlement proposal in the next week or so)
Thanks
