So i applied to decree Nisi at the start of March and at the time I was told I should get communication / certificate by the beginning of August ( that already was over 24 weeks of waiting). I have waited until now.. Nothing. Trying to call for an update - this is third day and i literally spent 6h+ on the phone waiting for someone to answer ( even now i am having a call on a loud speaker and 'waiting in a queue' ). I cannot spent my days on the phone, I am working and I have kids and i cannot just wait for several hours every day for a chance of someone maybe answering the phone. I tired sending email but got reply saying they cannot update me on progress via email ( even though automatic voice over the phone suggests it is better to do that than call them) . There is literally no way for me to get any sort of update . I have waited more than reasonable amount of time for them to get back to me, they did not. I need to know what is going on but there is no way to reach them as they don't answer the phone and refuse to provide updates via email. I am literally left in the dark about what is happening with my divorce and it's causing me a lot of stress and anxiety, not to mention frustration.
Am i missing anything? How do i find out what is the current status and why the delay. Has anyone been in a similar position ( maybe is now)? Does anyone knows how do i take it from here? What if another few weeks passes and there is no correspondence from them? How do I know my file did not go missing ? This is truly shocking that something as simple as divorce status cannot be checked online and involves such a massive amount of trouble and hassle and literally leads nowhere because no one answers the phone on their side.
Is there any ombudsman service i can complain to about this? Surely there is a lot of ppl like myself who are just stuck with their lives because how incompetent the service is ( the same service which still claim on official gov service to be taking 6 months where in fact it takes at least 4 months PER STEP).
