Accidentally applied for absolute

Hello!

I went into the portal to do the next stage in my divorce, which I thought was uploading my financial consent order and associated documents, but accidently I've applied for Absolute!

Obviously I've emailed them and I'll try and ring too.

But I'm still confused, where do i send my documents? Are they to be posted?

I may be wrong here, I divorced last June so may have changed
we just used solicitor to draft the consent order, nothing else. However, she told me only solicitors have access to submit the orders and D81 into the portal. I’d done everything else and was trying to see how to attach them in my file, rang her and she said that general public can’t do that on line. I think you can send by post BUT numerous posts on here about courts loosing stuff so be careful.

I think that's where I got the idea from, that I could upload online as my solicitor mentioned it in passing. So the absolute came though that day, so I'm now submitting after which seems fine to do. But solicitor says to get it done ASAP in case something changes. It is mad though, its all online, except for that one part. And I have to send a cheque to pay!

Please do speak to your solicitor about the fact that you now have Decree Absolute, as that can have some very serious consequences and leave you vulnerable in relation to issues like pensions and home rights notices. You need to crack on with getting your finances sorted without delay if possible.
