Hi,
I need to leave my husband. He can be very disrespectful to me, and has quite a nasty streak. Now twice he has brought kids (4&6) into arguments, been disrespectful (swearing etc) in front of them. I'm unhappy but life not terrible so would have stayed for the kids. Now I feel it's impacting them. What do I do? I work part time, no family nearby. I've joined an agency to get more money, I've applied for a credit card so I boost my credit rating. We moved as soon as I went on maternity leave so mortgage and bills etc mainly in Husband's name. Car his. I'm about to tear a family apart but I'll be so much happier without him. I feel awful for the kids, I have only about 3 grand in savings. Help!

Get a solicitor and work out what would be a fair financial agreement

Do you have access to bank accounts, pension details etc?

Are you wanting to stay in the house with the kids?

Would he want dual custody?

Hi, he would want dual custody, in happy with this, I'd rather leave the home as he can afford to run it, not sure of his finances but he pays most of the bills as full time and main wage earner. Pension is important as I have given up years of mine as main carer for kids. I could support myself (just) if he paid for the kids childcare (I do at the moment) I just need future financial security (IE pension) as I have a secure job, it's just part time.
Not sure I can afford a solicitor yet, but guess that's a must.

Just to clarify, I'd still want the kids and would have them probably 70% of the time due to work hours etc.
