Arbitrator... anyone ever instructed one?

It's an unusual route to go down in divorce but my divorce is rather unusual (my husband is in prison. He was recently sentenced for sexually abusing our daughter. I've spent 8 months trying to divorce him and he and his solicitor have been obstructive, uncooperative, his form E was a joke full of blanks and I-don't- knows. He was a GP! He knows where all of his bones are buried, financially speaking).

Anyway, his solicitor is showing signs of interest in the joint instruction of an arbitrator (my suggestion).

Does anyone here have experience or advice?
I've been self-representing.
