Parenting Agreement

Divorced amicably three months ago and got parenting agreement done all without attorneys involved. Parenting agreement states that I have my son for three nights each week, no specific schedule is outlined beyond that.

I work in healthcare, three 12-hour shifts per week, and due to weekend and holiday requirements, there really is no consistency in my schedule. However, I am always able to take my son for the agreed upon three nights per week.

My ex-wife is pressuring me to get a job with a consistent schedule, but in my profession that is nearly impossible, and the few exceptions would come with a considerable pay cut.

Does she have any legal leverage to force me into changing jobs when I am meeting all of the requirements of the parenting agreement?

No, she can't make you change jobs, but surely you can see that your being totally unpredictable makes her life very difficult, as presumably she also works, and won't have a job that can change times to suit hers? How far in advance do you know your shifts?

She can go to court to get a more workable arrangement, if you can't agree something.

And how often are the days you are available to parent falling at the weekend?
