When did you know it was time to separate?

I'm just trying to figure things out at the moment, beside the fact I am increasingly unhappy and the tension for the most part unbearable with next to no communication.

When did you finally realise it was time to leave? How did you do it?

@NorthGirlie he is.. I don't think he can see it (I sincerely hope it's not deliberate)! I'm exhausted from all the driving this week. Who's still in bed snoring? I'm up, kids have breakfast and our day has started. It's going to be so hard to go, I have no support and likely will end up in temp accommodation with my boys but it has to be better than staying with this vile man.

Are you married ?

Holothane · 26/02/2022 08:05

When the thought of 20 more years of this made my heart sink, this week yet again more money wasting don’t worry I’m taking it back to go in his leaving fund when I leave.

GeneLovesJezebel · 26/02/2022 08:18

I need to stop yo-yo-ing between wanting it to end, and thinking it’s not that bad.
It’s money that makes me stay, particularly with prices rising now.

@drybird
You need a break. He must realise that. Have you any family to confide in?

drybird · 26/02/2022 10:10

@NorthGirlie sadly no one near. I did make contact with woman's aid before Christmas and then got scared.. for the boys for me for the future. I think I may call her back and see if there's a way to leave

If you are married you need to speak to a family solicitor. You can get a free first chat if you ring around.
I found it very empowering.

Have you left? I'm wondering what they will actually tell me 😔

@LittleTwiglet although a previous poster recommended you look at Bupa for lists of reputable counsellors, can I recommend you look at the BACP website (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) as this is the regulatory body for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK:
www.bacp.co.uk

Good luck with taking this step Thanks
