Anyone who has recently divorced, how long did it take for your application to be processed so that your spouse could respond??

Sweetie1980 · 14/01/2022 13:05

It took about 4 weeks for me..

Livinginfaith · 14/01/2022 13:49

It was 3 weeks for me.

OneGlamMama · 14/01/2022 14:11

Thank you ladies! I'm on week 2 and was getting worried...
Feels like forever ago I submitted the application!

Sweetie1980 · 14/01/2022 15:46

Yes the wait is horrible

Tunnocksmallow · 14/01/2022 16:03

Not long at all, think as above 3/4 weeks. I applied in September, and I was granted my absolute mid-December. So the whole process is quite straightforward.

Itsybitsydooda · 16/01/2022 09:40

Mine was pretty quick. Applied Dec 9th, court issued Dec 21st and he received mail on Dec 24th. He then logged on Jan 1st and responded, within half an hour I'd applied for the Nisi.

OneGlamMama · 16/01/2022 13:00

I applied 29th Dec... so just waiting 😩 it's horrible!

My daughter is thinking of going down this route she has been apart from the husband for 11yrs ( I know she should have done it earlier) how much does it cost on line and do you get a reduction if you are working full time and in receipt of UC.Thanks

OneGlamMama · 16/01/2022 15:28

It was £593 to submit application

It's no reduction but you can ask for help to pay for it, or you can ask other party to pay half/all

Update from me. Applied for Nisi on Jan 1st. Was granted today and is being read on feb 2nd. Also been awarded all my costs.

OneGlamMama · 17/01/2022 19:13

@Itsybitsydooda that's brill! I'm hoping it is processed this week and he can respond ASAP

OP posts:
Itsybitsydooda · 17/01/2022 19:37

@OneGlamMama the court only give them 7 days to respond so fingers crossed for you xx

OneGlamMama · 17/01/2022 21:28

@Itsybitsydooda he wants rid of me as much as I want rid of him so it'll be no problem I'm sure! 😂 xx

Well I checked my account and post was sent on 19th Jan... but I haven't got an email until Monday 24th.
ExH still hasn't received anything yet. When do I worry?

OP posts:
Shibby585 · 26/01/2022 17:23

Can take 10 working days for it to arrive. Give it a few more days.

Notmyyearthisyear · 26/01/2022 21:20

The other party get 10 days to acknowledge receipt not to respond. It’s 30 days to respond.

jane7779 · 27/01/2022 20:30

I applied 15 Dec - got temporary number but nothing else yet !

My ex refuses to tell me or my solicitor where he is living so I'm having to send the divorce papers via his sister! Given how he's behaved up until now I'm not expecting it to be smooth sailing.

OneGlamMama · 27/01/2022 23:06

@jane7779 I applied on 29th Dec so I'd maybe give them a call???

God that's awful - hope you manage to get it sorted!

OP posts:
OneGlamMama · 02/02/2022 15:26

@Itsybitsydooda your reading is today! Do you have it back yet?

OP posts:
OneGlamMama · 02/02/2022 15:27

ExH got post and applied for nisi - just awaiting a date for it to be read in court.

WE ARE GETTING THERE!!

OP posts:
Itsybitsydooda · 02/02/2022 16:12

OneGlamMama · 02/02/2022 16:50

I'm hoping to have everything sorted by end of April x

OP posts:
OneGlamMama · 16/02/2022 10:41

@OneGlamMama

I applied 29th Dec... so just waiting 😩 it's horrible!
Hmm that seems a very long time. Can you call the assigned court and cheque what wait time is? I applied in first week of April last year, decree nisi given in Mid May…so yes, your wait, it’s a long time in my experience But I did apply under unreasonable behaviour so not sure if they prioritise the “quickie” divorces vs the no blame.
OneGlamMama · 21/02/2022 14:04

Mine was for adultery.

But nisi is being read 8th March and that's all I care about 😂
