Understanding financial position

Am trying to get my head round OHs finances so I can get legal advice before dropping the bombshell. Only with everything online these days, I'm finding that pretty impossible eg I know he has shares, I don't know how many, I know who his pensions are with but I don't know the value.

Is there any way I can get this? Or do I best guess at this stage? And then how do I find out later, is there a form we both complete? I'd rather avoid court and think we could agree amicably as we're both unhappy.

You'll need him to disclose as part of the process, you will not be able to obtain this information without his consent I'm afraid.

I think for an initial discussion with a solicitor you could take your best guess at these figures. You will really just be given an understanding of the process, discussing your needs and scenarios etc at a high level. At least this was my experience.

You will both have to fully declare finances either on the official court form or if your are doing mediation they wil hive you an equivalent.

Its best to make a note of what/where you think financial things exist so you can check the details are provided .

Thank you, that's helped.
