All your assets/cash are family money if you are married

Presumably it's all matrimonial money (i.e. not savings from prior to the marriage)? In which case I'm going to assume the question is how to stop your STBX withdrawing the money and wasting it rather than how to hide it in a divorce, which would be a really bad idea and make you look untrustworthy (and may even incur penalties such as costs being awarded against you).

I would get it into an account that he cannot access but make sure you declare it in proceedings. I also suggest you immediately remove your name from all joint accounts. Income going forward will be post-separation and will only be taken into account at the point of divorce on a needs basis.

What do you mean "protect" your savings? All savings up to £80k per account are protected under UK banking laws? Are your savings more than £80k?

Or are you asking us how you can hide assets? Because you can't do that, everything has to be declared.
