How you make Christmas special for teenagers that are estranged from their dad and his family. Will just be me and DS19 and DD16. We used to have big parties in the family home for their dads large family but me and the children moved out (because he wouldn't Sad long story!!)

Can you afford to have Christmas lunch out?

Or they invite a friend over for the afternoon. Fill the house play games. Food and a ripple?

Friends? Or could you volunteer to help at a Christmas lunch eg Salvation Army. Or why not do something completely different like go to a youth hostel somewhere beautiful and go walking

It will be different this year, but you don’t need lots of people to make it special. Get dressed up, cook a lovely meal, play games together, cosy up and watch a film, have a nap…..

All good idea thanks. I did help out at the S army last year. Maybe I can get the teenagers to join in this year. I foresee whatever I organise they will want to spend most of their time on devices talking / gaming with friends. Maybe I need to embrace the quiet!
