Supporting friend

My friend of 20+ years is going through a fucking horrible separation. They are about to do mediation and she has filed for divorce. It's all very shocking and stressful but she has been amazing at managing the practicalities.

I'm supporting her emotionally but if I wanted to help her financially a bit, what can I pay for/provide for her that won't be considered a joint asset?

Supermarket vouchers?
Can I pay for certain fees on her behalf (mediation, lawyers)?

I'm not even sure she would accept help but I'd like to offer and thought someone here might have some good ideas?

Going through one myself and honestly the best things I have is the friends that stuck around and are at the end of the phone.

Unless she is in financial trouble she may not accept it. But a nice brunch together to distract her. Things to look forward to have kept me sane!

Thanks - she's 6 hours away so I can't see her regularly face to face. I think short term money is an issue but once everything is sorted/settled she should be fine.

Maybe I'll book us something to do together in the new year. Thank you, that's actually a really nice idea.
