Paying for solicitors

Hi,
How did everyone pay for their solicitor? I paid the mortgage off so have very little in actual savings and I am being asked to top up my account (for the solicitor handing the divorce and the solicitor handling the financial settlement) by £240 per hour for each solicitor’s time every other week. As the stbx isn’t contributing to the costs of the children (and isn’t having one of them at all) my money is rapidly disappearing. I was wondering if I should take a small bank loan out and then pay it off when I eventually get a financial settlement and sell the house.
Any ideas?

I think you've kind of answered your own question there. You don't have any savings for legal fees so you're going to take out a loan. Not sure there even is an alternative to be honest.

I took out a 24mth 0% interest credit card out which was risky but got me out of a difficult situation.

I’m just about coping but I need to spend a bit on the house too (before it goes up for sale). I would probably be able to get away with a 24% interest free credit card.

I’ll look into things.
Thanks all.

Mine let me pay a bit each month. Worth asking.
