Maintenance in 50 - 50 Court order

I have a 50 / 50 shared custody order with the father of my 2 boys. The boys are 9 and 13. Legally my 13 year old has the option as to how often he goes to his Dads. He doesn't like going and exercises his right to this by only going once a week, mainly because he feels onliged to. My 9 year would also like this option but sadly doesn't have the choice as yet.
With regard to my eldest, his Dad pays no maintenance for him whatsoever. Clothes, food, phone, pocket money all come from me. Is there any way I can claim maintenance for my eldest or will the decision be solely based on the fact we have a 50/50 court order? I'm not looking to fleece my ex, but he pays nothing and its crippling financially.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

CMS will base maintenance on actual numbers of nights that children spend, not that which is ordered if they are different (or, I think so). So I suggest putting in a CMS application. Are you claiming Child Benefit for the children?
