Responding to Divorce Petition

I finally received the divorce petition from my ex via email today and was hoping to get some advice on the process of responding. My ex I mutually agreed to divorce and have been separated for about a year. We don't own any property or have children together. He has appointed a solicitor and agreed to pay the costs of the divorce, while I am paying the costs of some other associated things.

I agree with the grounds for the divorce. We have also agreed how we will split the joint savings account and I have seen a draft of the financial order from his solicitor, although I understand this won't come into play until later on in the process. At this point are there any consequences to responding to the petition and agreeing to the divorce? Would it have any effect on the financial agreement we make later on? Is this anything else I should be thinking of before I return the paperwork?

No grounds of divorce don't make a difference unless behaviour cited has resulted in affecting finances IE severe dv means one partie cant work etc. You have to respond to get to decree nisi stage u can't submit financial consent order until nisi announced
