Pension

Hi,
We are currently getting an actuarial report done on our pensions for pension sharing purposes. Mine is a small teacher pension. I gave up my career to care for our son with SEN. I work in low paid work within school hours.
Are there things I need to be aware of/ensure they are taken into account? I'm very financially ignorant compared to him

Thank you

Not much you can do except wait for values.

Public sector schemes like Teachers can be worth a reasonable amount, depending on how many years you've been in them.
Pensions form part of what funds may be divided, including housing equity and savings. Sometimes you need to look at how much of the pension was accumulated before the marriage, though that is not always considered.
