It feels like a massive step.
Halfterm - kids with dad for a few days.
So I've though of something I actually want to do... Just me... Not the kids... Not for ex-DH... Not to fit round larger family demands etc.
Just a night away for me.
And not something I think I should be doing eg spa break, shopping trip.
Just entirely suiting myself
Slightly nervous
Slightly exhilarated
Feels finally like a step in direction of moving on when I've been plateauing for ages.
Anyone else had similar moments?

Well done OP! It feels great doesn't it to just think about yourself for a change? I am five months out of the end of my long term relationship. I have just done the same thing as you and booked a night away myself next week. I can't wait!

I will raise a glass of wine for us as we enjoy our night just to ourselves, with no dead wood exes as we contemplate our new and exciting futures!

Good for you 😁. Not quite the same but after I separated from my husband I book a weeks adventure holiday abroad for me and my then 9 year old daughter. I was a nervous wreck before going. Turned out to be the best week ever!! Completely empowering. Enjoy xx
