What ducks in a row

I fear my marriage might be ending.

It might just be the stress of lockdown and a baby (DD was born in Jan 20 and lockdown 1 in particular was extremely tough).

But it might just be that we're happier apart.

So I can be ahead of the game if we do split, what should I be preparing?

For context, we're both high earners (I work 4 days a week), and we own a house. I would probably move out with DD (I hate this house abs it's a major cause of our stress), but I absolutely wouldn't limit DD's contact with her dad.

I really hope I don't put these plans into action, but what should I do just in case?

Make sure you are totally across your financial position ie pensions, savings, earnings
Work out if you would be entitled to any benefits as a single parent
Keep a sum of money separate just in case
No harm in seeing a solicitor to get an idea of how things would be split
Make sure you know where all important documents are eg birth certificate
If you are happy to be the one to move start working out where to

Good luck
