If I were to divorce would I be entitled to half of everything? House business etc?
No affairs just arguing all the time.
Wife started her own property business which I am also a director of.
Have a mortgage together with 90k equity.

How does this work?

Do you have any children together?
How long have you been married?

millymollymoomoo · 29/03/2021 06:47

You’re not entitled to half
You’re s turned to a fair share
Could be half, or more , or less

Will depend on multiple not limited to
Ages
Length of marriage
Children
Earnings( now and future potential)
Assets available
Needs

Well as I said all assets need to go into the pot fir consideration but no one here will be able to say what you’ll be entitled to. You could be awarded greater or less than half

Have you got a solicitor?

What assets are there and how have you proposed to your ex that you'll split them? Have you had that conversation yet? If not, look at all the assets and then make her an offer.

Have you both worked throughout the marriage? Both have pensions?
How old is the child?
Who is the primary caregiver?
Who receives child benefit payments?
Whose business is it? Has it been built up using joint assets or finance?

If you'd be aiming to be the pcg post split, then you'd be more likely to get a greater percentage of the assets.

Did your 6yo go to nursery after maternity or did one parent become a sahp?

Do you both earn a similar income from the business and dividends etc?
