How do you afford a divorce?

My friend in Australia is a victim of financial and domestic abuse. She does not have any money for herself as she had to ask her husband for any money she spent and give receipts.

How can she go about getting a divorce? Because she cannot afford a lawyer?

Not sure about what is available in Australia but in the UK you can apply on the government website to do it yourself or, like me, go via the Co-op to get solicitor support. Costs about £550. Could she put the cost on a credit card in her name?
