Divorce - where do I start?

Things have been Rocky for a while but I have recently found out he has slept with someone else. We have a house but no kids. I earn significantly more than him.

Do I just call up a solicitor? I haven't spoken to him yet but I know he will be difficult

Yes, just phone a solicitor and book a consultation.

Depending on how difficult you want to make his life you can consult with all the "good" local solicitors and then they can't actually represent him...

I did my divorce myself, although I got my paralegal sister to look over the forms, the house was mine though and no other assets so it was straight forward.
