Advice and support needed - pos separation

DH struggles with mental health and feels he needs to move out for a while to give himself some space as he feels at breaking point. As well as the usual working from home/pandemic challenges he is also in the process of getting an Aspergers diagnosis. We have 2 teenage boys and our eldest has ASD. This isn’t particularly out of the blue but nevertheless I feel shocked , hurt and confused and not sure what to do or say for the best. I feel sick and panicky at the thought of this being the end of my marriage . Advice and words of wisdom would be much appreciated

I think you need to prepare for the end of the marriage, even if it doesn’t happen.
Do you own your own house, is your name on the deeds ?
Do either of you have a private pension ?
What joint/single bank accounts do you have ?

We have a joint bank account but our current house and mortgage is in his name only- it was a family owned house that got passed to him. Our previous properties throughout the marriage have been in joint names. I only work part time as I am also caring for my son

Its best to be prepared. You can register your marital rights to your home with the land registry. I'm doing that due to our house being in hubby's name only and us currently being separated. Do your research and put benefits such as child benefit, DLA etc into your name. If he moves out also amend your council tax.
You will feel funny about it all for a while but you find your groove as a single parent.
